Thomas Knauer

Thomas Knauer is an artist who received his BA in studio art and his MFA in sculpture and print/ media from Ohio University and Cranbook Academy of Art respectively. 

Thomas has taught at schools like SUNYIT and Drake University as an assistant professor of Communication and Design and an assistant professor of Art and Design. Thomas has held his quilt exhibits all across the East Coast while being features in quilt books and media specials.

Thomas’s current works are increasingly devoted to quilt activism, with specific focuses on issues surrounding the epidemic of gun violence in America and explorations of the implications of living with chronic illness. His work also addresses the complicated nature of modern relationship and many of the major social and political issues of the 21st century.
