Jessica Frelinghuysen

Jessica Frelinghuysen's work is concerned with image and experience — elements that will change the viewer's way of thinking. The first recipient of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Grant for New Jersey artists at Sculpture Space, while in Utica she created Sky-ports, an ambitious portable public art project that was exhibited, with help from art students at Mohawk Valley Community College, throughout the city. She received an MA in Architecture with electives in Sculpture and Ceramics from Cranbrook Academy of Art, and a BFA in printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she attended the honors program in Palazzo Cenci in Rome. She has exhibited her work at Cranbrook, the Print Center in Philadelphia and the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit, and her on-going work, Helmets in Action, interactions of paper helmets in public spaces, appears in subways, parks, markets and galleries in Europe and the U.S. She lives in Princeton, NJ.
