Clement Bagot

Montreuil, France
Residency: March-April 2008

Project Description

Clement Bagot’s piece, formerly called Mineral Bunker (2008) is intentionally created with ordinary materials—recycled cardboard suggesting the geological crags and fissures of tectonic plates. Through a crack in the “boulder”, light emanates, and one sees that the massive boulder contains stepped clear acrylic surfaces of varying heights that host small delicate trees, also clear acrylic, devoid of any color. It is lined with delicate clear acrylic architectural fragments—suggesting an interior world of fragile manmade elements precariously attached to the massive natural world.
